In Sundays message on Submitted Leadership, several Heartlanders shared their stories of experiencing leadership practiced poorly over the course of their careers. Here are their stories.

Hey, Heartland! We will be gathering this Sunday at 9 and 11 AM only . . . we will not have a 5 PM service on Memorial weekend. Enjoy time with family and friends, and we will see you in the morning! Have you considered God’s perspective on submitting to others? Does that cause a bad, knee jerk reaction? Submission can conjure up some scary images of feeling inferior or weak. But God’s view on submission adds power, doesn’t take it away, and creates an intense feeling of security. That is such a radical view! Our first step to mend broken and fractured pieces of our relationships is to submit to others in order to gain intimacy, build interdependence and mutuality in order to enter a new and beautiful relationship. God’s promise to us when we do this? We will flourish! #lovemath2 #thejourneyhccks

Thank you, Heartland, for donating, volunteering, and caring with passion for people in our city! Wanted to share a thank you from our friends at Mission Adelante and Adelante Thrift! With your help, we: --Gathered and sorted tons of donations (literally, tons) --Filled an entire box truck with housewares and sorted clothing --Sorted, boxed, and stored another couple of truck's worth of donations in Heartland's unfinished space --For the first time: performed a fine sort of clothing items, separating them into sub-categories like "Women's pants" and "Men's shorts", drastically reducing the labor required at the store to get these items onto the sales floor It is so awesome to see you serving alongside all generations, in families, small groups, students and kids. This day would be chaos without you. Thanks for being Jesus' hands and feet in our community!
